A message from the
owner...
If one has to work, it just doesn't get any better for us
than book restoration. The knowledge that a parent can once
again read a favorite childhood book and this time it's to their great-grandchild,
or someone's favorite book of worship is useable again give us great
pleasure.
A growing part of my business is now helping booksellers
take tattered books and make them presentable for resale. We take
pride in our work and appreciate the return business of booksellers
who like our minimalistic approach. Frequent requests involve
restoring the luster to leather covers or strengthening the binding
so pages are no longer falling out.
A customer once summed up exactly the result I hope to achieve
with each book I restore:
I received the
dictionary several weeks ago and took it to my Mother. When she opened
the package and lifted out the book, she didn't say a word for minutes.
She just kept turning through the pages and then back to where my Father's
students had signed the dictionary as he was leaving to World War II.
She read each of the names out loud and told me all about them and where
they were today. Of the twenty-some students, there were only three or
four that she had lost touch with. She eyes watered as she told me about
the students and I sat there for a long time, listening to her stories.
I can not express my appreciation
for how professionally you did this job and how it pleased my Mother.
My thanks to you.
That's how we came to choose our motto:
